FOOD

Food is often tied up with incredible stories. We love filming with talented chefs and passionate home cooks from across the world. At Wilding Film we are always looking for opportunities to work with television shows, chefs, food producers and businesses to tell stories about people’s relationship with food and drink.

CHRISTOPHER KIMBALL’S

MILK STREET

Wilding Film has been commissioned to shoot and create a series of travel segments for the popular show Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street, which is available on the streaming service Roku in the United States. This exciting project involves traveling extensively across Europe and the Middle East to film local cooks and talented chefs in their own kitchens and restaurants. So far we have filmed in France, Romania, Turkey and the UK as part of our work together.

POSTCARDS FROM UKRAINE

Between 2017 and 2019, photographer Elena Heatherwick travelled around Ukraine with chef and food writer Olia Hercules to capture images for her cookbook Summer Kitchen. Elena captured photos and video of the people and places they visited. Olia spoke to fellow Ukranians about their memories of summer kitchens and a young woman named Sofia Vozniuk wrote in with her gentle story.

By combining Elena’s photos and video with a recording of Olia reading Sofia’s story, this film is a homage to the quiet traditions that make a place - in this case Ukrainian seasonal open-air kitchens. As the conflict following Russia’s invasion continues, we hope that this film shows another side to a beautiful country that has sadly been hidden from view.

THE GOOD LIFE

EXPERIENCE FESTIVAL

The Good Life Festival was forced to move online in 2022 due to Covid restrictions. This is a teaser of a short film made as part of their online festival. Chef Romy Gill cooks three dishes over an open fire at the Good Life Experience site. The Good Life Festival is an opportunity to reconnect with the outdoors whilst staying in one of the most beautiful places in the country.

The Journey North

his is a short film created for Wildland while working with our friends at Rural Studio. Wildland are the custodians of three Scottish country estates and run one of the country’s largest conservation projects. The film documents the journey north via Lairg, along Scotland’s north coast and back down the northeast coast. It celebrates Sutherland’s natural beauty and the food and people that make this part of Scotland so special. Produced by Rural Studio.
